Our programmes

We actively support and seek out initiatives in the following areas with the aim of contributing to the conservation of biodiversity.

Education and Community Engagement

Our education programmes seek to capture the imagination of the young and enlist the wider public in actions to protect the environment and help conserve biodiversity.

Conservation and research

The Habitat Foundation is helping to fund the Penang Government’s bid to nominate the forests of Penang Hill and adjacent protected areas as a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve. In addition to providing recognition for its outstanding biodiversity values and the diverse social landscape of this area, a UNESCO listing would provide a foundation for an ongoing quest to seek balance and sustainability in the interactions between human society and the natural environment.
