The mission of The Habitat Foundation is to contribute to innovative solutions to conserve biodiversity and protect the world’s natural heritage in close cooperation with government agencies, experts, NGOs, and community partners. We will achieve this through our programmatic work which falls within these four pillars:-
Conservation – we support initiatives to safeguard natural ecosystems, reverse the decline of natural habitats, and advocate for greater resources to be made available for the effective management of protected areas.
Research – we fund research that expands our understanding of the natural environment and supports evidence-based decision making in addressing the threats and challenges currently facing threatened species and ecosystems.
Education – with The Habitat Penang Hill which has been established an a outdoor classroom for all, the Foundation will serve as a hub to raise the quality, reach, and impact of Environmental Education for the benefit of current and future generations.
Sustainable Tourism – we will support initiatives that demonstrate the close links between improving and diversifying local livelihoods through responsible travel to natural areas.
