The City Nature Challenge 2019 is made possible by the citizen science iNaturalist app which is a powerful global platform for nature experts and enthusiasts to share biodiversity records and to interact in real time. It is helping to nurture wide interest in nature and habitat protection. Be sure to visit their website to find out how it works.
Follow the above steps to get started. And don’t forget to register on google forms because this will put you in the running for attractive Lucky Draw prizes as well. Top-placed observers stand to win cash prizes. There are also a number of consolation prizes which include t-shirts, books, and complimentary tickets to The Habitat.
It is important that all observers are also responsible members of the iNaturalist community. To ensure that your observations count, do be careful to adhere to the guidelines above. Observations are mostly sorted out by iNaturalist volunteers – so try not to burden them with observations which do not meet the standards and requirements expected. It will also ensure that you are not disqualified from the Challenge.
We hope that everyone has a fantastic time participating in City Nature Challenge 2019. It is a great opportunity to appreciate the amazing lifeforms that are part of our irreplaceable biodiversity heritage!
